Financial education sessions for students from Veracruz and young people from Centro Las Claras of Voces Vitales

Through our corporate volunteer program “Me Sumo” and as part of the Global Money Week promoted by the Superintendency of Banks of Panama, SISTEMA Clave developed Financial Education workshops for 56 children of 6th grade, students of an elementary school of Veracruz in Arraiján. Our volunteers also went to Felipillo to provide orientation to 15 young people between the ages of 17 and 21 who are participating in the program Voces Vitales at the Las Claras center.

The sessions were interactive for both groups, covering topics such as savings and the importance of financial planning under the 2023 theme: “Plan Your Money, Plant Your Future”.

SISTEMA Clave presented talks entitled “Key moves to learn how to save” (“Movidas Clave para aprender a ahorrar”), where simple steps and ideas are proposed to promote savings. These talks can be seen on social networks under the account @sistemaclave and these are some of the tips that, through music and dance, were presented:

  • Maintain physical and mental health: taking care of your body and mind also allows you to maintain good financial health in the Investing in health in the present means not having to make exaggerated medical expenses in old age for having maintained harmful lifestyle habits.
  • Take care of what you have during the school year: teach the value of their materials, the care they have to give to books, uniforms, pens, colored pencils, and other supplies, so that they last throughout the year.
  • Compare pricing: Always remember to compare pricing: How much does it cost here? How much does it cost over there? How much is the small one? How much is the big one? Where are the offers?
  • Save: The importance of saving and teaching children that if they want something, they need to set goals and earn things first.

“From SISTEMA Clave we are committed as allies of the National Strategy for Financial Education (ENEF, for its acronym in Spanish) through our participation in Global Money Week. This year we provided relevant information to young people from the Las Claras Project, so they can plan their financial

future, and also we shared “tips” with students from Veracruz from our savings campaign, creating, through music and dance, an innovative way for financial education in Panama”, said Michelle Camazón, our Director of Customer Experience at Telered.
