1000 trees planted in the foothills of Cerro Cabra

  • By planting seedlings, the volunteers of Telered’s group “ME SUMO” worked together with local organizations that seek to protect water resources and promote sustainability in areas near the Canal

Telered and other organizations, companies and schools of Panama Pacifico, joined forces in the celebration of the World Earth Day to carry out a successful tree planting in the foothills of Cerro Cabra in Arraiján. In total, 1,000 trees were planted, thanks to the teamwork of Telered’s Corporate Volunteer Program and in collaboration with the local community.

The planting of seedlings took place on Friday, April 21, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the participation of students, collaborators and volunteers from different companies of Panama Pacifico, together with Fundación Moviendo Vidas and Siembra tu Árbol Panamá. This initiative, which involves various sectors of society, is a clear example of how we can work together to care for the environment and improve the quality of life of local communities.

Cerro Cabra is a mountain of great ecological importance, located to the east of the district of Arraijan, province of Panamá Oeste. With a height of 512 meters, it is the main elevation in the district and is very close to the Panama Canal. Planting trees in areas near the Canal watershed is of vital importance, as these forests help maintain the ecological balance and protect the region’s water resources.

Planting trees on the slopes of Cerro Cabra is just one of the many initiatives that Telered and other organizations are carrying out to contribute to the protection of the environment.

Through its corporate volunteer team, Telered seeks to inspire and motivate other companies and organizations to join this important cause.
